Please note: All contributors must be somehow actively engaged in work or a lifestyle that promotes health, peace, eco-consciousness, and environmental sustainability.
Guest contributors can submit articles or product reviews and we’ll make sure to add your byline with a link to your site.
- Article length should not exceed “War and Peace”; between 200 and 800 words should do it.
- Submit articles as a Google or Word document or html link. Email submissions and related content to ecopeeps@modernhippiemag.com.
- Make sure to edit thoroughly. We want a smooth piece that has a nice flow of ideas. Use good grammar and correct punctuation. Use your spell check and read through for typos before you submit. Please know that we value creative thinking and writing and most certainly want you to feel free to express yourself. However, submissions are subject to being edited, though we will never disrespect your content.
- Content should contain relevant links but don’t overdo it – we’re watching. While we want to help you promote your blog or company, please limit links to your own site to no more than two.
- If applicable, list your sources at the bottom of the article with hyperlinks. Please do not plagiarize*! If you are inspired by a blog on another site, put it in your own words. If you do copy word for word, make sure to use quotation marks and proper credit including a hyperlink. Your article must be comprised of at least 60% of your own writing.
- Include high resolution images. Email photos as jpg, gif, or png attachments. Be sure to include appropriate photo credits when appropriate.
- Include a short bio (no more than 100 words) and a photograph of yourself. All photos must be emailed as a jpg, gif, or png attachment. Do not send photos embedded in an email or document.
- Subscribe to the Modern Hippie Mag email updates or RSS feed to keep current with when your article publishes. We do not contact contributors individually to inform them when their article has published. Also, by subscribing you will always be in the know!

Regular contributors to MHM get their life history, perhaps not all of it, included on our “Who Are We?” page with a link to their site and a photo if you wish, along with a 150 x 150 ad on the homepage.
Contributors will be welcomed as a Regular Contributor after two (2) consecutive months of article submissions.

Send your submissions via URL link, Google or Word doc to ecopeeps@modernhippiemag.com, be sure to indicate your desire to write for Modern Hippie Mag in the subject line so that you don’t get overlooked.
*A word about Plagiarism: Plagiarism is defined as, “the unauthorized use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the representation of them as one’s own original work.” (Dictionary.com). If you happen to use someone else’s words in your post, please give them credit with quotation marks and link, as we just demonstrated. Not to do so is really uncool and just bad karma. If you’ve been inspired by someone else’s work, give them credit as well. We love it when other websites cite our hard work, and we try to practice the Golden Rule by giving others the credit we’d like for ourselves. Modern Hippie Mag is all for recycling, but we do search for the initial source. Writers who are found to be plagiarizing the work of others without giving them their credit will be flogged.

Help! I Need Advice About Guest Posting! is a good read for anyone considering becoming a guest contributor, but hesitant to take the plunge.
