The driving force behind MHM is Jaszy McAllister. She is our resident guinea pig, (she personally tries every item for Fab Finds), eco-fashionista, and consummate workaholic. MHM began as a way for Jaszy to give voice and document her own personal eco-journey and discovery of alternative, practical “green” products. She is convinced that the more people understand and appreciate inexpensive ways to go “green” it will become more commonplace. Jaszy’s other passion is her eco-conscious jewelry designs found at www.Jaszy.com. When not scowering the web for eco stuff she dances her tushy off at a local Latin dance club. Steve McAllister’s primary role is ensuring Jaszy maintains balance, which is a full time job! Steve also serves as a Contributing Editor for MHM. Outside of that he is an acclaimed author, filmmaker, actor, and musician. Steve is a voracious reader and movie buff, he has graciously agreed to shower us with book and movie reviews in addition to articles that explore and highlight the “modern hippie” spirit. Steve also writes InkenSoul, a blog focused on literature and information that promotes commerce, charity, creativity, spirituality, and environmental sustainability. Ellie’s passion for green living began and developed through her work as managing editor of a healthy living magazine in SW Florida. Her eco-interests range from natural and organic foods (she wrote her monthly column, In Good Taste, for Positive Change magazine for four years) to skincare products, clothing and other useful gear. Shayna’s foray down the rabbit hole and into the often upside-down world of beauty products began at the tender age of six, when she pilfered her mother’s singular bottle of L’oreal nail polish and gave herself (and part of the carpet) her first pedicure. A self-educated recovering product-junkie, Shayna set out to pare down the clutter of abandoned beauty products taking over her bathroom (and dresser, and closet) in lieu of a more consolidated, effective collection of beauty essentials.
