Hello and thank you for visiting.
Modern Hippie Mag is your online resource promoting healthy living, peaceful existence, environmental sustainability, and other eco-stuff. We feel that the ideals of the first hippie movement still have a lot of relevance in this day and age. As a matter of fact, we think there are a lot of folks out there that are modern hippies and don’t even know it. You may have better hygiene than the hippies you may remember, you may even have a corporate job and a house in the suburbs, but we’re pretty confident that if you take some time to look through some of the articles, tips and videos here at Modern Hippie Mag, you’ll find that you’re more of a hippie that you think.
When we say modern hippie, we’re not talking about the drug using, tie-dye wearing, jobless flower child stereotype. The modern hippie is more about conscious living and clear thinking than altered consciousness. The modern hippie is concerned with clothes that are organic more so than brightly colored. If the modern hippie is jobless, he’s either laid off or an entrepreneur.
We’re not trying to push any political agenda. We’re trying to be more “green” because it’s the right thing to do. It’s better for the health of our families if we use organic products. It’s better for our community if we’re more conscious of our responsibilities as well as our power. It’s better for the air we breathe and water we drink if we find energy sources that don’t pollute so much. And it’s better for future generations if we use the innovation we pride ourselves on to find ways we can be more sustainable and less wasteful.
It is our aim to educate, to share a global camaraderie, shun conformity, and embrace individuality, much like the hippie movement of old. We get the fact that people who are in the know will catch our groove. We know, as they know, that it’s hip to BE.
