“New Year, New You.”
Okay… I am sure you have heard that before. I don’t mean to sound cliché, but there can be some truth behind it. If you choose to make it true.
A new year inspires us with new dreams, new vision and new goals. But what will make 2012 different for you? Or maybe I should say: how will you approach it differently?
We all know what it is like to start off the New Year strong and fully committed to our resolutions. Then… Like a car running out of fuel, we start losing steam and eventually have to pull over on the road to our dreams. We stop, and very rarely do we start up again.
What is going to stop you from repeating this destructive pattern? Break the chain that binds you from moving forward. Look at your 2011 to see what worked, and what you wish YOU could have done differently. The emphasis is YOU - not how others or your circumstances could have been different. Look at YOUR choices, motivation and intention.
What did you learn? What positives can you take away from each situation and use them moving forward? Even if it is a tough lesson, you can always take away something positive.
Get clear on the “why” behind your goals. Your motivation and intention can be a strong anchor that keeps your eye on the prize. But first get clear if the “why” behind your goals is coming from an empowered place or a disempowered place. Is your motivation grounded in fear or self-love?
You know it is coming from an empowered place if it dares you to live from the heart with a belief that anything is possible. You are coming from love if honoring your full potential, authentic spirit and truth are your motivation.
Take a stand that this is the year you will NEVER settle for less. Make 2012 the year to explore and create what YOU truly want and unleash what is lying deep within in you – the unlimited power of your authentic self!
This can be YOUR year, if YOU want it to be. The choice is yours.

What a great article! I really needed this.
hi Allyson-
I believe one way we can all stay inspired is to have a ‘goal’ that is in alignment with our highest intention..once You have done the work of figuring this out.. remind yourself daily with visualization (in your mind’s eye as well as having something to look at). For many people it is art. Viewing art changes you, inspires you, elevates you to be the person you are meant to be.
