It’s been a very crazy and hectic time at Modern Hippie Mag this week! You may have noticed that our articles have been a bit slim as of late. Well, it’s mostly because my time has been extremely limited while I’ve been performing in a theater production with the West Coast Black Theatre Troupe in Sarasota, Florida. Well, on my way to the theater yesterday I dropped in on a event benefiting the Farm Sanctuary.
How much thought do you give to the farm animals that end up on your dinner plate or even to the ones that are often deemed “not worthy” and thrown out as trash on the side of road, neglected and abused?
Well, that’s exactly what the Farm Sanctuary wants you to do…give some thought and take action.
“Since incorporating in 1986, Farm Sanctuary has campaigned relentlessly to prevent cruelty, and to encourage legal and policy reforms that promote respect and compassion for farm animals.”
The Farm Sanctuary is a 300 acre safe haven for neglected and abused farm animals located in the picturesque mountains of Orland, California and 175 acres in Finger Lakes, New York.
They have been instrumental in initiating groundbreaking prosecutions and laws to prohibit inhumane factory farming practices.

Biz Stone
The tireless efforts of the Farm Sanctuary has garnered support from policy makers and celebrities alike. In fact, Biz Stone founder of the social media site Twitter, a huge supporter for some time, was present at the event. I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to chat with him and with my trusty iPhone, I got a few sound bites.
Take some time to learn more about the Farm Sanctuary and consider going for a visit to get a unique experience of seeing the world through the eyes of farm animals. They offer overnight stays in spacious cabins. Or consider volunteering your time at the farm. But prepare to have your heart changed…I know mine is and I haven’t even visited, yet.

As photography has gone digital, it is now ever easier to manipulate images with Photoshop and other technology. Digital photographs used in the news industry are often adjusted for reasons of aesthetics, but they can also be altered with the aim to deceive editors or readers. Luckily, digital detection technology is quickly advancing as well, like Photoshopped Image Killer, which can tell you whether an image has been Photoshopped or not.
If you have some image and want to know if it's photoshopped or real. Go to Photoshopped Image Detector, put in the URL to the image, and hit submit. The system will analyze the image for you. If the image has been edited, detailed info will be shown.
It's spkooy how clever some ppl are. Thanks!
