If you are anything like myself and the rest of the one million billion trillion other viewers of HGTV – then you might be familiar with some of the swanky designs of Genevieve and the clean lines and zen-like feel that my favorite, Vern dishes up. The HGTV designers can inspire me to want to rip down walls with my bare hands – yes, it would hurt and I would probably get blisters and splinters – but by golly my house CAN be *that* savvy too!
It’s shows like House Hunters International that gets me into the most trouble. My husband just loves how I can quickly change from longing for a simple log cabin home with a stone fireplace to “but I just can’t stand not living on an island and wearing flip-flops everyday” attitude.
That’s what I call inspiring (or indecisive but whatever).
However, even though I cannot live without my log cabin and I surely would be living my authentic life if on an island – the 2011 Green Home Giveaway location has been chosen from HGTV! Oh yes, my family could live in the sustainable community of Stapleton…Denver Colorado that is.
Now if by fate, chance, luck or destiny, the penny does not land on heads and I do not happen to win this awesome green home – well then….back painting bedrooms with my low/no VOC paints!
But ma friends, if you are feeling lucky this year – enter to win this beautiful home with all kinds of eco-details!
I know, you probably want to make sure Stapleton is just the right fit for your family before you pack up all those boxes.
- 4,700-acre (7.5 square miles) in-fill redevelopment
- 1,100 acres planned for parks and open space (that’s 30% of Stapleton)

- 26,464 trees planted (so far)
- 80-acre Central Park is Denver’s third largest
- 6 million tons of runway concrete recycled

and MUCH much more!!
So no matter what your style – this sustainable city has so much to offer! Feeling lucky? Head on over for your chance win and to get up-to-date announcements and follow along with all the good green HGTV stuff.
To the winner I say “Congrats and YOU ARE SO LUCKY!” And to the rest of us? I say…. stay tuned for a special series (coming soon!) entitled something like,
