Product Review: Wipe Out the Traditional Wipe with WysiWipes

With two messy boys with messy friends, having something right at hand to tackle spills, droppings and meltdowns is critical.  It seems the car is the area of choice for these unexpected messes, so I have always kept a container or package of wipes nearby.

The problem is they often end up drying out because the cap or package was never closed properly and even when I try to refresh with water, it’s just doesn’t get the job done so I’m still left with a bit of a mess, not to mention trash from the wipes and containers.

Enter WysiWipes to the rescue.  What looks like a Altoid on steroids, it expands with a few drops of water or any liquid of choice into a 9 X 10 inch soft, moist and durable wipe.  WysiWipes are made of cellulose from a pulp fiber containing no chemicals or additives.  It’s biodegradable and compostable as well as hypo-allergenic.

Wysi WipesPackaged in convenient two-packs, 12, 100 and up to 500 packs, WysiWipes are really great to take on the go, camping, traveling, lunch box, bag and briefcase as well as around the house for any kind of cleanup. Either add a few drops of water or just drop into the spill and watch it absorb the remaining liquid.

I recently offered to my 11 year old’s  friends after a all day class field trip to the corn maize and comments included – “awesome” and “totally wicked” so now they think I’m a really cool mom!

And for those with babies and small children this can be a lifesaver in the diaper bag too.  With no added fragrances or chemicals, it will not irritate baby’s sensitive, soft skin.  But because it does look interesting, it might be tempting for a little one to pop in their mouth if accessible so as with anything small, be alert.

Other ideas besides water to moisten the WysiWipe include:

  • Green Tea
  • Gentle soap or antiseptic
  • Disinfectant like vinegar to kill germs
  • Essential oils to soothe skin
  • Warm lemon water for after dinner refresher

So wipe out the traditional wipes and have fun cleaning up those everyday spills as well as reducing waste at the same time.  Plus the kids will think it’s pretty cool too.
