“He was a bold man that first ate an oyster.” – Jonathan Swift
Great endeavors are accomplished by those who don’t mind being the first to do things. So often, we hold back from taking action when the path before us seems untraveled. However, if it weren’t for trailblazers, there would be no routes for others to follow. The danger that we face is that those routes often become routine.
When one of us rises up and endeavors to blaze a new trail, we are often met with the response, “That’s not the way we do things.” Nevertheless, the routines we follow now were not created without someone first establishing the route.
We need to realize that our society is still in a state of flux. It is an ongoing evolution whereby new routes must be charted in order for us to reach the next stage of our development. If you see the possibility for a clearer path, take it despite what the naysayers may say. It may be just the route they need to take.
