Great spirits often have the capacity to transcend the perspective of their own minds and understand the world in a broader view than those who adhere strictly to their own comprehension. Because of this openness, they are often misperceived, misunderstood, and sometimes feared by those who see life only through the tunnel of their own paradigm.
Yet these great spirits, those who seek to widen our capacity for understanding by widening their own, offer us invaluable opportunities to give us new perspectives on our interaction with the world as we develop our relationships, knowledge, practices, and society. Unfortunately, due to the attacks on so many who have come before them, great spirits are often slow to bloom in a society filled with cynicism and prejudice. Sometimes, we don’t notice them at all.
