Yes, the title of this article is a contradiction and somewhat weird. My life as a vegan is supposedly weird, well for the majority of the general public anyways. For example: attendance at family barbecues always raises the same questions: “Would you like a burger or hotdog Wendy?” I reply “No thanks, I don’t eat animal products” and the usual response is “Are you sick”? Hmmmm, let me think about that!
Factory farming is HUGE business, and the inhumane treatment of these animals along with the injection of hormones, antibiotics, and eventually fillers into the meat is what makes me sick even thinking about it let alone eating it. I eat a plant based, mainly organic vegan diet. I am at optimum health, and my food choices are varied and exciting. Hey! There is a word that people don’t associate with Vegans: exciting!! The stigma attached to Vegans – that they are all crazy activists with tattoos and attitudes – is old. There is a growing population of people who want to eat healthy and right without the inclusion of any animal products in their diets.
Just recently, a few media outlets have been writing stories about factory farming. Here is just one example. Now, I am not standing on an ALF (Animal Liberation Front) soapbox. I just think that the general public has the right to know where their food is coming from and what happens along the whole supply chain. If you do care about what you eat, I suggest you watch the film Earthlings (trailer contains graphic content) and then have a think about it.
Times are changing, which is good for the animals and inevitably humans. I, for one, will stick to my Vegan Diet as I have never felt better, and I hope that in the near future we see an end to mass factory farm production of animal products.

She has also recently become a representative of Miessence (ONEgroup) providing 100% natural/certified organic personal care products.
Awesome, Wendy! Thanks for the great article.
You are welcome
The most moving film I have ever seen on this subject. I was moved to tears.
Yes being vegan can be so EXCITING! I never felt this passionately about food and cooking before. Everything got better in my life, no sense of lacking in any area, except for a few ignorant comments here and there coming from people who think I'm nuts because I dont eat or wear animals. But I can deal with that by now (been vegan well over 6 years, and vegetarian for over 15) Peace of mind is a wonderful thing. But I'm no where near being "done" with my cause. Always discovering new ways of being green, kind and healthy. It's a life time project!
