Setting Records in Recycling

For Earth Day this year, students at State College of Florida set out to break the Guinness World Record for most plastic bottles collected in an 8 hour period.  Organized by sophomore Shane Henry, the event not only won the title, but also brought a community together and helped raise environmental awareness. This was the second year that Shane put on the EarthFest celebration. In addition to the Guinness World Record challenge, it also featured booths to teach about recycling, demonstrations of hybrid and hydrogen cars, and presentations about easy and affordable ways to go green. The total tally of 46,357 recycled bottles came to 4,980 pounds! Our good friend Rick Hughes of Anything Arts was there to capture the event on video.

Hats off to Shane! Wish this noble example would see MANY followers as it often is a shame to see how much is being just dumped into regular garbage instead of sorting it out and recycling it. We owe this to the future generations!
Still ways to go, compared to western Europe we really lag behind here big time…

    Great job!

For Exif reading, you can use Photoshopped Image Killer. It reads software info and jpeg quantization tables from Exif. Specificially, it can tell you whether image has tags or quantization tables from Adobe Photoshop. The site is free.
