“We trust something in a grocery store and assume it’s good. We don’t learn about the most precious thing in life-the food we put in our body. Educate yourself!” – Paul Prudhomme

For generations we have trusted that the food we are offered by our society is good for us. However, considering some of the plights that are facing our society, we may want to consider how much we can actually trust at face value. As more and more people get higher blood pressure and cholesterol, as obesity continues to overwhelm us, as diabetes becomes rampant, we must continue to look at what we are putting into our bodies and how it is affecting us.

The more we look into food production, processing, and delivery, the more we are finding ways that are healthier not only for our bodies, but also for the environment. Lately, there has been a large push toward local, organic, and vegetarian diets as the staples of processed foods and meats have been called into question. When it comes to finding the best way to navigate the lives we are given, education never stops.
