“The class of citizens who provide at once their own food and their own raiment may be viewed as the most truly independent and happy.” – James Madison

This country was founded by people who wished to create a new life for themselves. As we move into each new generation, we are always afforded the opportunity to continue this creative process and find new ways of providing for ourselves. After such a long time of industrialism, the growing movement of sustainability is presenting us with just such an opportunity.

This concept of sustainability not only allows us ways to create a burgeoning future, but also impels us to live in the present with greater awareness and thanksgiving. As we are taking a step back and reintroducing ourselves to growing our own foods, creating our own cleaning products, and finding new ways of conscious living, we are also visiting new levels of enjoyment in the simplicity of everyday activities. Take some time today to consider ways to provide for yourself that you have never imagined before. You may be surprised at what you are capable of.
