As we meander our way through life, we get to make many choices on how we progress. We get to choose our habits and routines. We get to choose our careers. We get to choose our friends. With each of those choices, we have to work to attain them. We have to work to create good habits and healthy routines. We have to strive toward our chosen careers. We have to work to build friendships.
However, because our families are given to us, we often overlook the work necessary to cultivate those relationships. Because they have always been there for us, we tend sometimes to take for granted the special gift we are given by having such a relationship. As we go forth in our decision making and choosing the lives that we wish to create, let us not forget to be thankful for the families that we have and the role they play in helping to create the lives we seek. Remember that as we help them create their lives, they help us create ours.
