“Exuberance is beauty.” – William Blake

For some of us, we are blessed with only fleeting moments when we truly feel excited to be alive and striving toward a purpose. Caught up in the rigmarole of the daily grind, we get so bogged down with minutia that we forget the vibrancy that comes with working on something we really enjoy. Yet for others of us, we have keyed in to the blissful knowledge that exuberance is not something that comes with striving, but something that we supply to the striving.

The truth is that there is nothing outside of us that makes us excited – not a person, not a job, not a task. We bring the excitement to whatever we do, whoever we meet, whenever we want. If we know ourselves enough and are in tune with our emotional life, we can bring excitement to just about anything or anyone. Mopping the floor becomes a mission. Bringing smiles to people’s faces becomes a challenge. Thoroughly enjoying every considerably menial thing makes life a bold new adventure.

We only get one go around in this life as we know it. Shouldn’t we make it exuberant?
