Recently I had the pleasure of chatting with Leanne Hilgart, founder of Vaute Couture, a conscientious fashion house based in Chicago that specializes in high style, high performance fashion coats and outerwear using no animal derived materials.  Named one of Seven Top Emerging Green Designers of 2009 by Ecouterre.com, Leanne has also been featured in Daily, VegNews Magazine, Entrepreneur and other major publications.

Among many other things, like what Leanne does for fun…(trumpet anyone?), I was shocked to learn that Leanne has been a champion for animal rights from a very young age, a mission that continues in her lifestyle and innovative cruelty-free sustainable apparel.
