“Our task must be to free ourselves by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty.” – Albert Einstein

Jesus told his followers that there was little virtue in only loving your own kind. Though his was a tale of morality to teach the goodness in loving your neighbor, all of these years later that sentiment has evolved into the environmental movement. In caring for the environment, it is not simply about taking care of our own and seeking to provide for the future of humankind at any cost. It is the realization that every living being from the smallest blade of grass to the biggest blue whale is connected in a way more cosmic than most of us can conceive. When we can extend our spirits and our minds to love the whole of nature as much as we love ourselves, we will know true sustainability.
