While we have used clothes for generations to help define what type of character we are trying to portray, the way we dress ourselves now plays a much more integral role in defining our true character. We were once content to simply dress according to how we wished to express ourselves, using color, style, and fabric to help us accommodate whatever event or activity we were participating in. Now, however, the clothes we wear tell a deeper, more profound story about who we really are. With the discovery of the rampant use of sweat shops in third world countries and the ecological devastation created by textile cultivation, we are called to a greater awareness of who is making our clothes and how they are being processed. Now more than ever, clothes really do make the man.
