“I never leaf through a copy of National Geographic without realizing how lucky we are to live in a society where it is traditional to wear clothes.” – Erma Bombeck

Frustration can come so quickly when something we take for granted is taken away from us. We often curse when our cell phone drops a call, but rarely stop to consider those who don’t have telephone service at all. We feel so much anxiety over keeping up with the latest fashions, but forget about those who wear the same clothes day in and day out, or those who have none at all. We get tired of being preached at about our bottled water without considering those who have no access to clean water at all. We are so quick to return food when it is not cooked to our liking without giving a thought to all who go hungry. May we all learn to be more conscious in our experiences to fully appreciate all that we are given and experience them on an all new level of active gratitude.
