“Humanity has advanced, when it has advanced, not because it has been sober, responsible, and cautious, but because it has been playful, rebellious, and immature.” – Tom Robbins

Faced with the gravity of all of the seeming perils of our generation, it is so easy to get caught up in the severity of our financial, environmental, and violence-weary woes. It is because we are lambasted with so many doom and gloom scenarios that we must remember how to play, how to have fun, and most importantly, how to laugh. We don’t have to look very hard to find reasons to be somber as so many people wish to share their misery. What we need now more than ever are clowns, comedians, and jesters, those with buoyant laughs and heartfelt glee, to remind us what life is really about. For if we do not find reasons to smile, we have found no reasons to live.
