A few months ago, we featured Be Love t-shirts in our Green Giving Guide Vol 2. As I mentioned in that article, Be Love is about much more than t-shirts so we thought it best to take another look at this buoyant enterprise.
Peace Warrior Mandala
Owners and life partners KamGi Chak and Kyle Finch use their t-shirts as a vehicle to propel their mission of peace through non-violence. Each of the shirts is beautifully designed and share messages of hope, peace, and spiritual encouragement. Most of their shirts are printed on organic materials, and a portion of all of the proceeds benefit Common Dreams, a nonprofit, progressive, non-partisan citizen’s organization which offers an online resource to ignite change for the common good.
The remainder of the proceeds goes to fund the true mission of Be Love – “to educate, inspire, and organize people to create justice and peace through the practice of nonviolence.” Though the messages on the t-shirts are indeed inspiring and engaging, it is the collection of Peace Studies on the website and the monthly Nonviolence and Direct Action Workshops held in Los Angeles that truly drive Be Love.
Be Love Woman's Organic
The Peace Studies curriculum is a collection of assorted courses and programs that teach conscious methods for promoting peace, non-violence, courage, dreaming, leadership, and accountability. Most of the lessons are free, but they also offer an exhaustive program for use in the classroom for the low cost of $35. In addition, the website has a collection of links to various progressive news sites and other peace and justice organizations.
