“Leave all the afternoon for exercise and recreation, which are as necessary as reading. I will rather say more necessary because health is worth more than learning.” – Thomas Jefferson

The Bible says that your body is a temple, the house of God. Whether you believe in God or not, it’s important to give your body the reverence it is due. Our minds are constantly moving. In an instant they can take us from here to there, now to then, ever exercising whether we want them to or not. The greatest exercise we can give our minds is to get them not to work so much. Yet our bodies are always here. They are always in the now. They never leave us to reminisce or to dream, but are constantly here to support us in the present. Because of all they do for us, because they keep us grounded yet mobile in this life we enjoy, let us take time to appreciate and care for them, revering them as the temples of our lives.
