“Bad things are not the worst things that can happen to us. Nothing is the worst thing that can happen to us!” – Richard Bach

Adversity isn’t easy sometimes. Too often it seems to show up at exactly the wrong time. But imagine mountains with no valleys. Imagine the ocean with no waves. What we often see as adversity, the down times or the tumultuous times, are actually the things which bring the most beauty to the ordinary.

Now imagine standing on top of a mountain you’ve just climbed and looking down upon the valley you’ve just crossed. Imagine standing on the beach and looking back over the wave you’ve just surfed. Even though adversity seems like a bad thing, it always gives us cause to elevate ourselves and get a little closer to our potential.
