“Nothing contributes so much to tranquilize the mind as a steady purpose – a point on which the soul may fix its intellectual eye.” – Mary Shelley
A few years ago, there was a very popular book in the Christian arena called The Purpose Driven Life which allowed millions of people to refocus their lives on what they found to be most important to them. Living life at the madcap pace this society calls for often brings us und
ue stressors, and it is our purpose which helps us to put it all into perspective. Regardless of what our purpose may be in life, it has the ability to bring stability to our lives when we feel tossed about. Though the storms may come and the waves may rock our boat, our purpose gives us a trajectory toward which we can direct our sails.
With all of the negativity that continues to assault us through the daily news feeds, we can still move positively in the direction of our purpose. Even when life seems hopeless, we can still find hope in our purpose. As you go through your routine today, and the trivial attempts to knock you off your course, ask yourself if it contributes to your purpose. If it’s not feeding your soul and pushing you toward your goal, let it go and keep focused on your purpose of living a fulfilled life.
