“Green is the prime color of the world, and that from which its loveliness arises.” – Pedro Calderon de la Barca
Green is the first color of life. Regardless of your philosophical or religious persuasion, life emanated from something green. If you are an evolutionist, life began with algae. If you are a creationist, life began in a garden. Deep down we know that if God is truly the author of life, He writes it with green ink.
In modern life, beyond the concrete, drywall, and macadam we use to corral our own lives, life is still generated and supported by the green that surrounds it. Through the trees that supply our oxygen to the plants that provide
our food, green brings us life. Even along the highways we build and the cubicles in which we confine ourselves, we find ourselves drawn to populate them with plants and trees so that we may always feel its influence.
Take some time today to appreciate something green. Marvel at green as the miracle of growth. Wonder at the green of inexperience and innocence. Realize that green compels you to go. Let us together find ways to make this world a greener place.
