Eco-friendly Home Decor

Eco-friendly Home Décor by Tara V.

When shopping for eco home décor, it is important to consider fabric options and hardwoods. Many fabrics are not earth friendly due to the manufacturing process, and it is always best to use furniture from sustainable sources. Many furniture companies are now using eco-friendly fabrics, sustainable and reclaimed woods, and non toxic dyes on top of green manufacturing practices.

It is not necessary to sacrifice style or comfort, as eco fabrics are just as comfy as any other fabric. These fabrics are created with sustainable plants and free of toxic pesticides commonly used to grow cotton and other non organic plants.

bambooBamboo is commonly used to make furniture in place of non-sustainable wood and as bamboo fiber. Bamboo is a renewable resource since it is a plant and not a tree. When harvested, Bamboo requires no replanting and will grow new shoots from existing roots. Not to mention, Bamboo is 100% biodegradable, making it perfect for sustainable home décor and furniture. Original Bamboo Factory and ECO-DESIGNZ both offer furniture made of Bamboo that is stylish and eco-friendly!

Reclaimed wood is timber that is being re-used to create something new. Often this wood comes from long-standing idle buildings and timbers and decking rescued from old barns. Reclaimed wood is a great eco décor choice because it is taking already cut wood and re-using it for something new. These woods feature a unique appearance and can be used for decorations, flooring, and furniture.

  1. Nowadays, more people are starting to realize that they can combine living in luxury and not doing harm to the environment by patronizing green or recycled building material like that of glass and bamboo. I do hope that the awareness regarding environmentally safe cleaning and building products will become widespread so that the future generations will be ensured that they will still be able to appreciate that beauty of our natural resources.
