Earth Creations

Some time ago I was doing research on eco-friendly dyes and came across the company site for Earth Creations.  I was really impressed with their philosophy to nurture the environment by using natural materials and processes.  They use natural clay and low impact biodegradable dye for their sustainably grown hemp, bamboo, and organic cotton clothes.  I learned that coloring fabrics with soil dates back to early cultures, is long-lasting, and can create unique colors that vary with different soil compositions.  What really caught my eye was their Mod Hoodie Tunic Dress made with Bamboo, organic cotton, and spandex French Terry.  I was so excited about it I told my adoring husband, who like the caring thoughtful man he is, surprised me with one as a gift!  Yay, me!

Steve purchased my dress from Natural Vibez, (www.naturalvibez.net) it arrived with a pack of complimentary incense that smelled oh so good!  As I removed it from the packaging, I was impressed with the extreme softness of the fabric and though not very thick, felt very plush and snuggy.  The overall design is simple, yet has a very sexy silhouette that is very flattering.  It is a versatile dress, though I was a bit disappointed that I was unable to drape over my shoulder as shown in the product photo. However I’m quite content with the cowl neck and hoodie option.  This is a dress you will absolutely love wearing all the time!

I must say that you look gorgeous in that hoodie, Jaszie! I also wear this hoodie a lot (love it!) and we carry it in our boutique but you look like a model in it! Indeed I and Jute and Jackfruit are big fans of Earth Creations, too, and are particularly fond of their new organic cotton-bamboo collection, which not only includes this Mod hoodie, but also the Syracuse skirt and the Juneau Jacket (a very easy to wear, wrap around jacket for weekend or work). I must compliment you too on your research on organic dyes, since that is often one of the most toxic parts of the garment manufacturing process. Luckily GOTS certified fabrics are eco-friendly in the dying too, using only organic fixers. I encourage you and your readers to check out our large selection of Earth Creations’ newest items on our site (http://www.juteandjackfruit.com), as well as the many other eco-friendly designers such as Kelly Lane and Indigenous Designs (perfect for winter). We are very careful not only in our environmental selection criteria but also with respect to the social impact of our clothing. We choose to work with only fair trade, ethical and artisan made designers and groups– mostly women. Sincerely, Shana

    • Thanks Shana! I wish I had it every color, it really is one of my new fav’s! Thanks for telling us about the new items at Jute and Jackfruit, I will most definitely have to check them out! Thanks again! Jaszy

You look absolutely beautiful. I’m so glad you modelled the dress, as I have to admit I wouldn’t give it a second look, but it looks so different on and it’s versatile too.
Yay to your hubby for treating you!

  3. Thanks Mrs. Green! You’re absolutely right that sometimes seeing a product on an actual person can make all the difference! And yes, I have a really good hubby!

  4. OK, I am sold! I love the dress and it does look adorable on you Jaszy! They also have a top, Riviera Reversable Top, that is on my list of must-have’s!

That is a really snazzy dress, and it really complements your skin tone and figure. I haven't heard of Earth Creations before, but I am definitely heading over to their website to check out what they have to offer. As somebody who is always on the lookout for alternatives to the mainstream their clothing lines derived from sustainably farmed hemp, cotton and bamboo, really appeal.

The perceptions of the buying public are changing, and quite rapidly too. Green is the new black, and consumers are fashion slaves after all. Never forget that!
