Green Giving Guide

green giftsThroughout this holiday season, we’re putting together a Green Giving Guide offering daily tips to help you give sustainably. Sharing gifts with loved ones is a wonderful way to celebrate the season and whatever holiday you might acknowledge. However, every year stores are flooded with sales on products that are harmful to the environment, potentially harmful to the user, and still cost more than most of us can afford. Be it Christmas, Hanukkah, Winter Solstice, Kwanzaa, or Festivus, the observance of your tradition can still be eco-conscious and should not put you into debt.

So this year, rather than spend loads of cash, give from your heart by fully appreciating the people you love.  Realize there are richer, more fulfilling, and more eco-friendly ways to celebrate our relationships than by just buying “stuff.” Our Green Giving Guide series will feature eco-tips and ideas, recipes, DIY arts and crafts, family activities, charitable giving, and some inexpensive green and fair trade products that will help to enhance your gift-giving without forcing you to max out yet another credit card.

Check back with Modern Hippie Mag every day for your Green Giving Guide installment. Of course, if you have any green giving ideas you’d like to share, we’re always open to hear about them and share them with our readers.
