I’ve just experienced Modern Hippie Mag on the Kindle Wireless Reading Device, and boy, am I impressed. For only ninety-nine cents a month, Kindle owners can subscribe to MHM and have it renewed once a week. If you don’t have a Kindle, it’s a pretty remarkable little invention.

About the size of a regular book and a third of an inch thick, the Kindle can hold thousands of books and magazines that you can upload from the built in store without having to connect to a computer or anything. You can change the font size to meet your needs. You can even have it read to you. It was a pretty cool experience to hear my recent review of the film HOME read to me by a computer generated voice, and I was very impressed that it paused for punctuation and didn’t seem as stilted as I imagined it would. It was kind of like that computer from War Games, but with a lot more panache.

If you’ve got a Kindle, please go check out Modern Hippie Mag. If you know someone with a Kindle, tell them to check out Modern Hippie Mag. If you want to buy a Kindle, remember Modern Hippie Mag. It’s less than a dollar a month, and we would really appreciate your support. Plus, it’s good reading that’s good for the planet and good for your soul.
